Dewayne Thompson, wanted in the wounding and kidnapping of 17-year-old Katelyn Beard, has been captured by Jackson Police. He was taken into custody around 5:45 in west Jackson near where Beard's vehicle was found earlier today.

A burning cross, a Smith county man beaten and shot by a family member, and in critical condition. We are told this is much more than a family feud, and outraged family members are calling it a "hate crime."
Chrysler held a five-year planning meeting Tuesday morning at its headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI. As part of the Investor Day program, future projects involving Jeep and the Jeep plants were discussed.
New Grand Cherokee and Wrangler models are coming in 2017. Jeep brand will also be launching the Wagoneer, new full-size SUV in 2018, but there is no word yet on its production site. In the past, this vehicle was produced in Toledo.
Jeep brand CEO Mike Manley says the company wants to make Jeep go global, increasing sales from 732,000 in 2013 to 1.9 million in 2018, targeting Asia and South America. Manley says they aspire to return Jeep to the #1 SUV brand in the world and make a "manufacturing footprint and dealer body."
The company says Jeep sales have been successful so far this year and more than 1 million Jeeps are expected to be sold globally by December.
Chrysler brand CEO Al Gardner says the Dodge Grand Caravan will be phased out because they do not want it competing with the Chrysler brand anymore. Production of the compact Patriot and Compass, built in Belvidere, IL, will end in 2016.
