Body found in Ashtabula County ditch

ASHTABULA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

A pedestrian found a body in a ditch in Harpersfield Township, located in Ashtabula County on May 11, Sunday afternoon.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the discovery of a middle-aged black male found below Route 307, east of Barnham Road.

The man did have identification on him, but the family has not been notified.

Officers found a pool of blood on the roadway above the ditch.

The man was transported to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office for further testing.

Police could not find a matching missing persons report. The Ashtabula County Coroner believes the man had been dead for a few days at the most.
