TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Several armed robberies in south Toledo have residents on edge Monday May 12. In past two weeks there have been at least five armed robberies at Toledo convenience stores, but in at least two of those crimes police still haven't made any arrests.

Things just haven't been the same for one of the employees who were robbed. She says she's been taking extra safety precautions after the robbery and hopes police find the thieves soon.

"They were masked, they were armed, and they were in a hurry. They just wanted in and out," said Carol Whitzel, Assistant Manager at Stop & Go.

Nerves are still high at the Stop & Go on Arlington. They were just one of several businesses in the area robbed at gunpoint.

"They had me by the hair, they led me to the safe with a gun to my head and then made me open it," said Whitzel.

It has been one week since Whitzel says it all happened. Police are still looking for those responsible.

"Everybody's lives are on standstill until they're caught and it's scary to be in a convenience store or any place else and not knowing the next person that comes in. Are they going to get us again?" said Whitzel.

Whitzel says one man held her at gun point and led her to the safe while another man stood by the door. A police report from Friday night describes a very similar situation at the Stop & Go on Broadway. Employees there were not available to talk but according to the report, it was once again two men who entered the store. One reportedly stood by the door while another with a gun demanded money.

In both robbery cases the suspects fled on foot. If you know anything that could help police find those responsible for these armed robberies, call Crimestopper at 419-255-1111.
