TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Daniel DeAngelis, Deputy Director of the Lucas County Board of Elections, has resigned his position.

DeAngelis's resignation comes after a transparency committee sent to Toledo by Ohio Secretary of State John Husted recommended he, along with three board members and Director Gina Kazala resign.

DeAngelis had been set to meet with a state hearing official on the matter Thursday. He is the only one of five people to take the committee's advice and resign his position.
