PORT CLINTON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The city of Port Clinton is getting ready for the Walleye Festival and there's a big push in the city to get people to come to the event.

The 34th annual Main Street Port Clinton Walleye Festival will take place May 22-26 at Waterworks Park. There will be free live concerts, a kids fishing derby, parade, carnival rides, beer fest and more than 130 vendors from around the nation.

Currently, event organizers are hanging flyers and posting on Facebook to get people to come to the one of a kind event.

"I think everyone benefits from this, you know? The residents, the local business. It's going to be a good time for everyone," said Laura Schlacther with the Port Clinton Chamber of Commerce.

Last year, thousands came out, bringing the city an estimated $1 million.

Organizers expect a bigger turnout this year.
