Local daycare in spotlight again after police execute search warrant there

(Toledo News Now) -

Corrine's Creative Daycare and Preschool in Bowling Green is in the spotlight again - and the new details coming out Wednesday now reveal that police were inside the daycare today, taking pictures and checking out the records and files.

That's according to the daycare's director, Corrine Bressler.

In early May of this year, WTOL 11 told you about this daycare - then under fire for having a registered sex offender, Justin Guck, working as a volunteer at the daycare.

Bressler tells WTOL that she wasn't aware of the man's background because she says he wasn't technically an employee, and was the father of one of the children at the daycare.

She says not having a background check done on him was a mistake in retrospect.

There's a pending investigation right now with the Ohio Department of Job and Family services, potentially regarding the number of children at the daycare.

Under Ohio law, childcare providers do not need a state license if they provide care to six or fewer children in the provider's home - and no more than three of those children is under the age of 2.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says they will help Corrine's Creative Daycare and Preschool get into compliance with the state law.

In the meantime, police would not give us any more details about the investigation.
