TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Toledo police sergeant involved in thousands of investigations that get you informed about major crimes hit a milestone. He has appeared on our air many times and has assisted in all of the city's biggest cases.

Retirements happen every day but this one felt different at the Toledo Police Department. Sergeant Tim Nobel worked his last day at Toledo Police Headquarters Friday May 30.

Sgt. Noble joined the force in 1982 and became sergeant ten years later. He made huge strides when he joined the U.S. Marshals to form the northwest Ohio violent fugitive task force. Marshal Rodney Hartzell and Sgt. Noble worked together daily.

"I remember the first time Tim went out with us, and our procedures are different than the Toledo Police Department, and we knew a fugitive was inside a house and we just opened the garage door that was unlocked and went in the house and Tim kept screaming "You can't do that! That's a burglary," said Rodney Hartzell, U.S. Marshal.

Since 2005 Sgt. Noble, along with the U.S. Marshals, arrested close to 7,000 fugitives and cleared 17,000 warrants, getting the worst offenders off the street.

"They're arresting important people who have done heinous things. He's got to play cops and robbers at the highest level and he's done great at it," said Lt. Dan Gerken, Toledo Police Department.

"Tim is extremely honest. He's a good guy to have on your side. He knows how to take charge. He never is afraid of anything. He'll be greatly missed and even though we bicker like husband and wife I'm going to miss you," said Hartzell.
