3 OVI arrests in Oregon checkpoint

OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Checkpoints in the 2800 block of Navarre Avenue Saturday night resulted in three OVI arrests.

Oregon police conducted the checkpoint from 10 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday. Both east and west bound traffic was checked for impaired drivers.

Officers say a total of 1,699 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. The following citations were issued:

3 OVI arrests (all three refusing to take breathalyzer test)

5 cited for driving with a suspended license

2 cited for driving without a driver's license

4 cited for improperly securing children with safety seat/seat belts

1 arrested for outstanding felony drug warrants

1 issued a summons for outstanding warrants

2 vehicles impounded
