TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Two men already charged for their roles in a robbery gone wrong which ended in the death of a Toledo gym owner took the stand against Deitrekk Boone on Wednesday. Boone stands accused of the murder of Joe Lengel in November 2012.

Lengel was shot and killed in the course of a robbery, according to Toledo Police.

Devonte Harris and Jason Kuhns testified Wednesday, but neither said Boone was the one who pulled the trigger. Both said that there were two firearms involved in the crime; a hand gun and a shotgun. Lengel was killed by a shotgun. Both told the judge that Boone was holding a handgun at the time, not a shotgun.

On Tuesday another man charged in the crime, Matthew Managhan, told a judge that Lengel was not the intended target of the crime. Managhan said the group had planned to rob the owner of a nearby auto shop who Managhan said was dealing drugs at the time.
