ProMedica Health and Wellness Center coming to Starlite Plaza

SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The "ProMedica Health and Wellness Center", which will be located at Starlite Plaza, has now been approved by Sylvania City Council.

The facility will be used to house nearly 100 physicians throughout the Toledo area.

"Today our physicians are in small offices around different parts of the city," said President and Chief Administrative Officer for ProMedica Physicians Lori Johnston.  "And so what we are doing is bringing a lot of those practices into one location to make it easier for our patients and their families."

The wellness center will also have other accommodations. It will include a pharmacy, a walk-in clinic, an optical shop, and a work out center for ProMedica employees.

The construction of this $45 million wellness center will create an undetermined amount of jobs. The old Churchhill grocery store will be demolished to create the 3-story building.

"We will be doing a formal ground breaking in July, so you will start to really see some things change at that site this summer, and then our scheduled move in time is the first quarter of 2016," said Johnston.

The project is estimated to last about 18 months, weather permitting. ProMedica bought Starlite Plaza around this time last year.
