CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A former Parmadale employee stood before a Cuyahoga County Judge on Thursday, June 19, after being indicted for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

The 34-year-old Cleveland woman, Cassondra Goodson, entered a plea of guilty in two cases brought against her.  The first case consisted of three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.  The second case consisted of six counts of sexual battery, two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and one count of interference with custody.

In December 2013, a Cuyahoga County grand jury indicted Goodson of Cleveland on 29 charges, including sexual battery, unlawful contact with a minor and interfering with custody. The former shift coordinator is accused to having had an on-going sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl at the treatment center.

You may recall, a couple of months after those charges were filed, Catholic Charities announced that it will no longer use Parmadale Institute as a residential treatment center for troubled youths.

Despite no longer offering housing, the center still provides other services, including mental-health services and community-based treatment for youths and families.

Parmadale's orphanage opened almost 90 years ago in 1925 with its focus shifting towards youth with severe behavioral and emotional issues in 2009.
