MEDINA, OH (WOIO) -

It is a crime that tests your faith in people. A video 19 Action News obtained of a child who somehow got into Eli's Kitchen on Medina's Public Square with the aid of an adult. Then opened the back door to the place for the adult to commit burglary.

The video is from a surveillance camera at the back of the restaurant. It shows a man in a hooded sweatshirt walking toward the back door. When he gets to it, it is opened and he goes in -- but the shocking part is still to come.

As he leaves, you see a child with him. Police say it was a planned caper, the child inside to simply open the door for the adult. Police believe the guy lifted the child and put him through a front  window, after breaking it.

They don't have any clue right now as to who the un-dynamic duo are, but would like your help.

Call if you can identify them. It is surely the story of a child being led down the wrong path.

"You ever see anything like this before?" asked reporter Paul Orlousky.

"No I haven't, not in 20 plus years. I've never seen anyone use a child like that," answered Lt. Dave Birckbichler.

The key to the case could be the cut one of the two got on the broken window. It left a lot of blood from either the child or the adult, so whoever did this would have a fresh wound.

Anyone who has information on this incident is urged to contact dispatch or Detective Lynn at 330-725-7777.
