TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Coast Guard rescued two people in Lake Erie after they fell off their jet skis into the water near Sterling State Park in Monroe on Wednesday.

A third person was able to get back onto a jet ski, and called the Coast Guard to report his friends needed help. A rescue crew from the Toledo Coast Guard station arrived on the scene and located the two teens in the water.

All three individuals were wearing life jackets, and no injuries were reported, but this is the third time emergency crews have rescued people from the lake this week. Two kayakers were rescued near Maumee Bay State Park Tuesday, and another two teens were rescued near Kelleys Island Wednesday afternoon.

The Coast Guard wants to remind all boaters and others out on the water to stay aware of their surroundings and the weather conditions. You should also always wear a life jacket and have a way to signal for help in case of an emergency.
