HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) -

A fire at a trailer home in Hanson, Kentucky leaves 51-year-old James Simmons dead and officials searching for answers.

The chief of the Hanson Volunteer Fire Department, Jimmy Epley, tells 14 news that the fire is suspicious.

Crews got the call just before 9:30 Saturday night from a passerby that saw the flames.

Epley says when crews got to the trailer on Roscoe Veazey Road a-quarter of it was already engulfed in flames.

Epley says crews got the fire under control quickly and, after they did, that is when they found the body.

Detective Shawn Bean confirms that autopsy results show the victim was shot in the head.

Bean says they do have a suspect but they are not releasing any information on the suspect at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing.

They ask anyone with information regarding this case to either call Crime Stoppers at (270)825-1111 or the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office at (270)821-5661.
