Grant offers free pre-school for Toledo children

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

More than 100 Toledo-area kids will go to preschool completely free this upcoming school year thanks to a grant.

Little Generations Daycare, which features 2 Toledo locations, received a grant to provide pre-school for 149 3 and 4 year olds.

"All of our children deserve a pre-school experience and get prepared for kindergarten so we are all working on kindergarten readiness together," said

The program is open to children currently not receiving benefits through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, county Children's Services Boards or Head Start.

To qualify, a family must fall at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty line. Below is a chart listing the maximum income allowed to qualify based on household size.

*For families/households with more than 8 persons, add $4,060 for each additional person.

To register, parents should bring the child's birth certificate and proof of income for all adults in the household to either of the Little Generations Daycare locations. Little Generations Daycare is located at 1831 West Bancroft Street and 700 Eleanor Avenue.
