A wanted fugitive was arrested and sent to Rutherford Country Adult Detention Center on Thursday, according to Sheriff Robert Arnold. The suspect, 43-year-old Stephen Beck of Lebanon, was wanted for four years on multiple charges of child rape. He was charged with three counts of raping a child Sept. 10, 2010. He was released on $1 million bond, but did not show up to Circuit Court to answer charges. He has been on the run for four years.
In addition to his September rape charges, Beck was also wanted for nine counts of rape of a child, 16 counts of rape, and 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in Wilson County. He was placed on the Top 10 Most Wanted List by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on July 25, 2011.
TBI learned that Beck was in Johnson City and later in Wilmington. In May, The U.S. Marshal's Task Force picked him up and held him until Thursday where he was returned to face charges in Rutherford and Wilson Counties.
Beck is scheduled to address the charges July 31 in Circuit Court. He is being held on a new $1 million bond.
