Republic Services to accept your extra water bottles after water crisis

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Toledo's water is in the clear but the problem of an overflow of water bottles is making residents' recycle bins a little heavier this week.

Craig McCawley, the Operational Manager of Republic Services, says the work load has been a bit more extensive for the drivers but nothing they can't handle.

"I think we will take care of it in the next couple of weeks and things will be back to normal," said McCawley.

In the meantime Craig says if residents in Lucas County have an overflow of water bottles not to worry.

"Go ahead and stuff it in the bin and anything extra that you have just put it in a plastic bag and set it next to your bin," said McCawley. "Our drivers will dump it and then get out reload it and dump it again."

There is not a limit on how many bags a home owner can have and there is no extra fee. Republic Services just wants residents to make sure they bag the extra bottles.
