BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Officials in Bowling Green are taking extra measures to make sure the city is prepared in case a water crisis were to ever happen there.

Staff at Bowling Green's water treatment plant have increased their testing since the Toledo water crisis, testing daily instead of weekly.

At this week's public utilities meeting, officials discussed even more possibilities that could help keep the water safe.

"There has been some talk that we could expand our membrane system to actually double the capacity or maybe change out our GAC vessels," said Chad Johnson, superintendent of the Bowling Green Water Treatment Plant.

The plant's GAC vessels are already changed out six at a time per year, but they're looking to possibly change out all 12.
