CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati's own Adrien "The Problem" Broner officially announced his return to the ring in his hometown on Thursday in front of friends, family and fans. Broner, a three-time world champion, will fight Emanuel Taylor in a 12-round super lightweight bout on September 6 at U.S. Bank Arena in the first ever Cincinnati boxing event broadcasted on Showtime.

"The wait is over," said Broner. "I've got to look good. Every time I have fought at home, I've put on a show."

Broner, suspended in May for his off-color marks after a fight with Carlos Molina, will be the main card in his first fight since the suspension was lifted by the World Boxing Council.

"I've got to make a statement with this fight. I'm getting older. I just turned 25. So, a lot of the antics and things I used to do, I really can't do no more. My kids are getting older and are starting to see a lot of the things I'm doing. I have to be a role model as a father. I talked to my big brother Floyd Mayweather Jr. and he's been teaching me. So, I'm just calming down a little bit."

Broner spoke like a changed man in an exclusive one-on-one interview with FOX19, but still put on his usual show for the fans at U.S. Bank Arena when promoting his upcoming fight with Taylor.

"I'm the Mack Truck who's going to hit you and keep going," said Broner. It's going to get ugly.  Everybody in the city is coming to see me put on a show, and that's what I'm going to do."

In his 29 fights, Broner has 22 knockouts, six decisions and one loss. His one defeat came last December when Marcos Maidana stunned Broner.

Tickets for the fight on September 6 at U.S. Bank Arena are on sale right now on ticketmaster.com and stubhub.com.
