TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Toledo City Chief of Staff Bob Reinbolt has received a ticket after he was caught on a Toledo Police dash camera running a red light and using his vehicle's lights and sirens during the Toledo water crisis.

According to city officials, Reinbolt was headed to his office in One Government Center just after midnight on the Saturday of the water crisis. Reinbolt is also the Toledo Safety Director, so his vehicle is equipped with lights and sirens. He decided to use the lights and sirens and ran through red lights in downtown Toledo.

Although as Safety Director, Reinbolt oversee the police and fire departments, he does not have police powers. City officials say there are no reports that Reinbolt was driving in an erratic manner.

On Thursday, Aug. 14, Toledo Mayor D. Michael Collins issued a statement about the incident.

"Safety Director Reinbolt has asked to be treated in the same manner as any member of the safety forces under his responsibility would be subject to," Collins said. "Therefore, he received counseling from Deputy Chief Don Kenney on the City's revised pursuit policy. We believe that laws that exist should be equally applied; hence a red light citation has been issued to Mr. Reinbolt."
