PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A levy on the November ballot could help Perrysburg Schools get a new building, and eliminate the use of portable classrooms.

Now there's a levy group to help with voter outreach.

Due to a current lack of space, some of the schools in the district have to use portable classrooms to accommodate students. A new building would solve the problem, but the project would cost nearly $40 million.

A levy group committee was appointed at Monday's board meeting, and will be responsible for reaching out to voters through lawn signs, flyers, and other informational tools to educate voters about the need for this levy to pass.

"It means a great deal to a campaign to have community members step up, because you know this really is a community issue - it's not a school issue, it's really much larger than that," said Superintendent Tom Hosler.

There's an existing levy that is ending this year, so the superintendent says passing this new levy wouldn't be a significant increase to taxpayers.
