Benton, KY woman accused of DUI after ramming vehicle into school sign

BENTON, KY (KFVS) -

Kentucky State Police say a Benton woman faces DUI charges after running off her car off the road and hitting a school sign.

Bridget Moryl, 41, of Benton, Kentucky was cited for three counts of wanton endangerment first degree and one count of driving under the influence 1st - aggravated circumstances.

According to KSP, around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, the Marshall County, Kentucky sheriff's department received a complaint of a reckless driver on eastbound on US 68 East. It was learned later the driver was Moryl.

Moryl's Toyota Camry shortly thereafter ran off the road. The car then hit a Marshall County High School sign in front of the high school.

There was two juveniles in the back seat of the car.

The driver and children were taken to the Marshall County Hospital.

Moryl was then transferred to Vanderbilt Hospital, in Nashville, Tennessee by ambulance.

One of the juveniles was treated and released with minor injuries. The other one was admitted at the Marshall County emergency room.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted on the scene by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, Marshall County EMS and the Palma-Briensburg Fire Department.

The investigation is ongoing.
