My "winning lottery ticket" came in January, 2006 when I joined WTOL as a general assignment reporter, with a focus on the local government scene. Previously I worked 10 years at WSPD radio. Born and raised here in the Glass City, I'm a 1985 grad of Whitmer H.S. and I earned my bachelor's degree at Eastern Michigan University. I'm also lucky to have a loving wife, Katie, as well as two children, Sophia and Henry.
Hockey is a passion of mine, and after 35 years of personal investment as a Chicago Blackhawks fan, I enjoyed this year's Stanley Cup championship run. I have fond memories of the Toledo Sports Arena, being there for all of the ups and downs with the Toledo Goaldiggers and the Storm, and looking ahead to spending time with friends and family at Walleye games.
Celebrating cultural diversity is another passion of mine, being a member of the Echoes of Poland folk song and dance ensemble, as well as the Toledo Holzacker Buam Bavarian Schuhplattler group. I also love to travel, having enjoyed watching football matches and eating fish and chips in England (several times), Oktoberfest in Munich (3 times), folk dancing in Poland (3 times), honeymooning in Italy (once), as well as visits to Canada, Scotland, Austria and the Netherlands.
My biggest "beef" is with those who say 'there's nothing to do in Toledo'. Seriously? The museum, the zoo, the restaurants, the festivals, the parks, the sports, the theaters, I'll stop here. If you took the time to read this to learn more about me, thank you.
