Wind Chill Chart

November 2001 marked a change for the National Weather Service when the wind chill chart that was used for years was revised.   Wind chill is the rate of heat loss that we undergoe on exposed skin due to the wind and cold of winter.   The stronger the wind the colder it feels.

Wind chill can become important at cold temperatures and is often an indicator of how long it takes for frostbite to occur.   To get a copy of the new chart, click here.
