WTOL Editorial: So many want to be mayor of Toledo
WTOL Vice President and General Manager Bob Chirdon
The race to become the next mayor of Toledo is shaping up nicely.
Keith Wilkowski and Jim Moody are declared candidates. Former Toledo Fire Chief Mike Bell and Lucas County Commissioner Ben Konop are being talked up as possible candidates. And there will probably be others.
This is a good thing. From this group we can expect the September 15 nonpartisan primary to be hotly contested. Hopefully, voters will not settle for a bunch of feel good blah, blah, blah.
This region needs jobs and that requires a regional approach to economic development. The first candidate who delivers on this, wins.
