Democrats in Congress released the details on the $825 billion, so-called stimulus plan. This thing is stuffed with so much pork it should come with a soundtrack of hogs feeding at the trough. President Obama characterized this as "dramatic investments to revive our flagging economy."
Really? How many jobs are created by giving $1 billion dollars to Amtrak, $2 billion for child-care subsidies, $252 billion to something called income transfer payments, and $83 billion for the earned income credit for people who don't pay income tax? There's more, but you get the picture.
I thought this was about building things. I want more money in our pockets so we can buy houses, appliances, furniture, and cars. You know, keep people working. Anything less is an outrage.
