Lent began this week.
I went to mass on Ash Wednesday, and the message from the priest was about more than religion.
He challenged us to take the next 40 days and focus on improving just one thing about ourselves. We should try hard to do it every day. Hopefully at the end of the 40 days we would be so pleased with the improvement, that we would make the changes permanent.
Imagine the collective good that would take place if most of us did this?
I liked this message. Regardless of whether you practice a religion, this was all about believing in the power of self-improvement and self determination. It was about taking responsibility for making yourself a better person.
I've got plenty of material, so I'm going to give it a try.
